FAQs

Where do you get the Pokemon figures?

This is probably the most asked question! I get them from a variety of places, such as Amazon, eBay, occasionally from Best Buy, Target, or GameStop! Figures are all officially licensed ones, either from takara tomy, bandai, or re-ment collections! Some of the figures I use are 3D printed as well.

Are these real plants, do I have to take care of them?

Rest assured, these are all fake plants and floral decor, so no watering necessary!

Why shop Yuemi Customshop?

- At Yuemi Customshop, I strive to use only the best quality materials that are equally environmentally friendly and maintenence friendly. For example, many of the artificial plants in my terrariums are sourced from thrift stores local to me, or second hand through other sellers online. I am a one person team, so when you support Yuemi Customshop, you are also supporting an Asian owned, woman owned, and passionate art business!

Is the Pokeball suitable for a child?

The Pokeball is *NOT* a toy, please keep this in mind when purchasing! This is for *DISPLAY/DECORATION* only! While I wouldn't say it is not for children, but please let them know that it is very fragile, and if dropped/tossed around it can break!

Will you come to ___ convention?

- Maybe some day! I am currently based in L.A., I moved out here from Michigan last year! Hopefully in the future I will be able to travel to more states for conventions! While I have expanded to Las Vegas events, I would love to try for some Arizona ones, even go back to Chicago for some as well!

How do I take care of the Pokeball?

- You can gently clean it with a soft cloth, such as a microfiber cloth! Make sure to keep it out of direct sunlight for too long to prevent color loss! Displaying it in an environment with lower humidity can also prevent damage to the moisture balance as well. Every order comes with a terrarium care card :)

How big is the Pokeball?

All of my Pokeball terrariums are a standard sizing of 10cm in diameter, about 4 inches, unless specified otherwise under the product description. Gameboys are roughly the size of the average smartphone.

What is the Pokeball made of?

The Pokeball itself is made from hard acrylic plastic! Since it is plastic, there will inevitably be scratches here and there. I do my best to make sure every Pokeball is as scratch-less and smudge-less as possible. The environment inside is a combination of floral supplies from local craft stores, lots of strong adhesives, and more! I drill the Pokemon figure in for max security, reinforced with E600.

Can I get a commission of a custom Pokeball?

For commissions, please check out my Instagram (@yuemi.customshop) and click the link in my bio! There you will find a 'commissions request form', or click here.

Can I open the Pokeball?

- Unfortunately, the Pokeballs do not open (unless you break it). However, if you would like a product that is an open display terrarium, I recommend checking out my Gameboy terrariums where the Pokemon is popping out of the screen, or any open display terrarium!

Do you use real Gameboys for your Gameboy terrariums?

- No, no functioning Gameboys harmed in the making! All Gameboy terrariums are made with high quality Nintendo replacement shells! Rest assured that no working Gameboys are harmed. If you have any shells that you'd like to upcycle, please reach out to me and we can work it out :)

Why are your products out of my budget?

Every product is handcrafted with precision and care, and each terrarium can take anywhere from 4 hours to 12 hours to make. I can make all different kinds of terrariums as well, so if you'd like something terrarium related but not necessarily a gameboy or pokeball, please reach out to me :)
